HD video camera

Hi,

I have been on the hunt for a new HD video camera however it is much harder to get one than you may actually think. Initially I thought that one with a hard disk would be good. However after speaking to a tech guy at one of the stores, he said that a hard disk is good but flask memory is the best. So I thought to myself a flash camera would be good. When I started searching - there were few and far between to meet the crieria. I also wanted HD, night recording, stabilization, good zoom quailty and one that is under 800 euros. Being a newbie to this - it is sure taking time to find something. I heard also that although the Sony ones are good - the service from Sony isn't great. I looked at Canon and they were also rated as good but I heard that the parts are really expensive and you cannot use other branded parts. So now I am focussed on a Panasonic however this specific one that I like is over 1000 euros. I would appreviate any advice from you guys if you could offer regarding geting a new HD video camera?
