The UC interoperability forum (UCIF) is a non-profit ecosystem of communications technology vendors with a shared goal to bring the promise of truly unified communications to life. The UCIF is a non-profit alliance of worldwide communications technology leaders working together to realize the potential of unified UC by increasing efficiency, decreasing implementation costs and improving the interoperability experience for UC customers.
The UCIF’s vision is to enable interoperability of open, standards-based UC hardware and software across enterprises, service providers, and consumer clouds. The members of UCIF will collaborate to ensure products and solutions from different manufacturers and service providers will work together, enabling more choice in the supply chain and better user experiences. The founding members include Microsoft, HP, Juniper, Logitech, Lifesize and Polycom. I am expecting that this list will grow as I don’t see many PBX vendors (except for Siemens) so I assume that more vendors over time will grow. Check the website here
